Hi, I have a 78 cj-7 that a new windshield wiper motor swings the blades to far and sometimes they jam, does anyone know if there's adjustment to shorten the swing?
Thanx! Thor006

I'm not certain if there is a way to adjust the wiper pivots and/or linkage. the parts may simply be worn out and in need of replacement. you can buy a wiper linkage kit for about $100 or less. kits typically include new pivots and linkage as well as pivot nuts, arm, spacers, clips, and gaskets. I'm pretty sure this will fix the problem. Omix Ada offers a well-packaged wiper linkage kit that is sold by many outlets, including JC Whitney, Morris 4x4 Center, and others. Crown Automotive also offers wiper linkage kits.
hope this helps. 'wheel on.

You can adjust them by pulling the arms off the spline shaft and relocating them on the splines. This will increase the swing in the opposite direction and reduce it in the other. If your wipers are going off the windshield then you'll want to bring them in a bit.

I was thinking too technical. relocating on the spline shaft makes sense. good advice!
