I just installed a 2 1/2 inch daystar lift on my 2001 tacoma. it consists of an add a leaf in the rear and coil spring spacers in the front. I am getting a slight vibration coming from my front axles at around 40 mph due to the pitch on my lower control arms. My truck has full time locked hubs. Maybe the vibration will subside after a few hundred miles once the cv joints get used to the new angle. anyone have any feedback, or have you used a kit like the one I have. I am worried this will cause damage to my axles or rearend. The lift looks great and rides awsome otherwise. I can't wait to get 32' or 265/75 r 16's mudders on there and hit the trails. thanks for reading my post. Moey,

Hi. Congrats on the lift kit. The 32s will look good for sure. Concerning the vibration issue, it is my experience that noises/vibrations such as this don't "subside", they only get worse. The CV Joints won't get used to being at a changed angle, they will simply begin to degrade.
First things first, who installed the kit? If a shop did the work, have them feel the noise/vibration and get their input. It could be a result of something done incorrectly during installation. If all is well with the installation, call Daystar directly and tell them about the vibration and ask if they have had similar experiences from other customers or if additional equipment/parts/modifications are necessary to cure the issue.
Other stuff to try: get a torque wrench and make sure your wheel lugs are torqued to proper spec. good to do on other bolts pertaining to the newly installed parts as well (bolts can loosen up after just a few miles of driving). Drive slowly through an empty parking lot with the windows down and listen closely. is the vibration constant? is it only under power?
You could also replace the CV axles with new ones. being that your Toyota is almost 10 years old they may be already well worn and the changed angle from the added lift is simply wearing them more rapidly.
hope this helps.
