hello- looking for a little help on my 53 willys jeep. Like most of us on these sites, I am mechanically inclined and do my own work on the wheelin' rigs. So here's the LOW DOWN....   Dana 25 closed knuckle front axle. Converting it to disk brakes using all the knowledge I can read off of the net. I didn't buy a kit but rather pieced it together from internet info and the use of a local parts store. I have used caliper mounts & new loaded calipers for a GM 1/2 ton dana 44. I have new rotors that are the 1 1/8" thick ones(all sites say use the thick ones not the 7/8" ones) from a CJ jeep. I start assembly just like I have read and I am at a stall point where the caliper will not line up onto the rotor. Meaning the caliper needs to go farther in towards center of axle or rotor needs to come out. For those of you that are familiar with this and know what I am talking about this is where I am stumped. I have the hub mounted "ass backwards" onto the outside of the rotor. The hub has a machined flush mount surface to the face of the rotor. I have the caliper bracket mounted to the axle. When the rotor/hub assy is seated back to where the bearing is supposed to ride I cannot get the caliper into the bracket.  Here is where I am ???  The used caliper mounts were from a salvage yard. Guy says they were from a dana 44 but someone says they might be from a GM "10 bolt". Anyone know if there is a diff in those two axles braking system. Its either the caliper brackets or i am at a point to machine the hub some more and go to the 7/8" thick rotors. I don't think that is what I want to do from what I read...  Help anyone??
