Next Infiniti QX to be based on Nissan Patrol

Although largely unknown in the U.S. the Nissan Patrol is highly esteemed in the rest of the world for being a peer to the legendary Toyota Land Cruiser, and Land Rover for its off-road capability. It will be coming to the U.S. in 2011 disguised as the new Infiniti QX56. Motor Trend did a preview drive of one recently.

Wow. This is a looooong way from the old Patrol. It looks like it will be a great vehicle, though.
I hope we can get our hands on one to test in the backcountry.
