I found the December marker today.  I tried to call the new number twice but kept getting a voicemail message.  So I left my number.  I can't believe nobody had gone to get that marker yet.  But...for once in my life it appears I won something.

Thanks.  I've been seeing the markers placed out west for months.  When I saw that this one was in TN, I figured it was the closest I'd ever get.  So after mulling it over for 3 days I decided to finally go.  My Garmin Etrex Legend started dying on me...electronically not batteries.  The screen is going dead I think!  Not a good day for that!  But thanks to Google Earth I had pulled up aerial photos of the location and had it mentally recorded in my head...so I drove 3.5 hours down there and had to pay to get into the property because it's an offroad park!  Then I went up there where I thought it was, and was able to get my GPS to work just long enough to walk around some and pinpoint the spot.  Then I looked down and there it was...in a natural drainage channel under some rocks and mud.  Only one fourth of the marker was visible.  I still can't believe I found it before anybody else went down there.  I thought for sure that marker would be gone!  I was also worried because I had never been there before and it's mountainous and my Dodge Ram rolls on stock suspension, but it wasn't a problem.  My engine did get a bit hot climbing to 2,800 ft. though.  I should have used low range.  Now I just have to get the magazine staff to answer my calls!    It would still be nice to have a marker show up in Kentucky soon though...

Congrats WXman. Glad you made the find.

Looks like the December Geostash has been found, everyone. The November GeoStash is still out there somewhere so please keep looking.

OK, I hope somebody can give me the scoop on this magazine and its release dates? I just got my December copy from the news stand today 08, OCT. 08, I only picked up my NOV. copy a couple weeks ago. I was surprised to see DEC. there today. What gives this is only the 08 OCT. and DEC. is out already? Not complaining, just need to know when to look for mag? Maybe I should subscribe? I love the hunt for the coordinates I found all of them for DEC. in just 2 trys I have been GEOCACHING for a long time and Wheeling even longer this Geo Stash is right up my alley. Thanks ahead of time, BAJA CAL

BAJA CAL-i wish i could give you a better idea of the release dates of the mag but as it is i don't really know- i thought i did-but apparently i really don't. You can typically find the latest issue of the mag on newstands by the 10th of the month but i am finding that some newstands either don't receive their issues or don't restock shelves until later. after all, why would they put out a December issue when it's not even November yet? Welcome to magazine publishing schedules.

but to answer your question-yes, if you subscribe you can typically get your issue on time. you usually are able to save a few bucks also since the sub price is way lower than than the per issue.

Remember: The November marker is still out there somewhere-please go find it and claim a prize.

Hey thanks for your quick reply, as for the Nov. marker my readings put that in the state where the Orioles play ball? I am a NOR-CAL west coast Wheeler.

I went again on saturday and was unable to locate marker.  Is there anyway the magazine can verify that it is still at the location.

You are inquiring about the November marker, yes? I will see what I can find out. We had one marker disappear last year so it does happen. I will post info as soon as I hear any.

Has anyone else looked for the November marker and not been able to locate it?

by the way, the marker is about the size of a vehicle license plate and has the magazine title/logo laser cut in to it. it may be partially buried or under a rock or bush, so you will have to search the area of the coordinates as well as you can.

Still haven't heard anything.     I'm sure the guys at the mag are busy.  But it would be cool to hear something....
