Some of you may have seen the news release by Chrysler about its upcoming line of extended-range electric vehicles, with the unveiling of electric versions of the Chrysler Town & Country, Jeep Wrangler, and a Lotus-based Dodge sports car.
My question to you guys is...would you buy or drive an electric Jeep?

I've heard for future models, they're considering in-wheel electric motors, which could theoretically mean infinitely-variable and per-wheel independent low range. That seems kind of cool, as long as it's reliable and can stand up to the kind of punishment Jeep enthusiasts are known to dish out!

I've found out that it will only be 2-wheel drive and now may be discontinued for the duration.

Yeah, I'm a little disappointed to hear that it will initially be 2WD only. But I give Jeep credit for trying to build something that is appealing to truck and off-road enthusiasts that's also environmentally-friendly. But they're going to have a tough time convincing the Jeep faithful unless it's 4x4 with a proper low-range.
