As you've probably heard, the big story of the past few weeks has been the bailout of the Detroit 3. Should they get the money? Where should it come from? Do you think GM, Ford or Chrysler could go out of business? What would happen next if they did?
Are they "getting what they deserve" with what's happening right now, or are they simply victims of the worldwide credit crunch and economic slowdown?
Do you think the Detroit 3's over-reliance on truck and SUV sales put them in their current predicament? What impact do you think the current auto industry environment will have on the future of 4x4 and off-road vehicles?

while I would like to see them succeed I don't feel any more need to bail them out than I would any other private or public business. there are inherant risks in every business and you have to be ready to deal with them as they come.
i love the big 3-i love their trucks and 4x4s and i love calling my 4x4 American. But the line must be drawn. if not, where will it stop?

Good point. A lot of congressmen and commentators are concerned at what kind of precedent a Big 3 bailout would set for other companies coming to Uncle Sam, hat-in-hand.
