I've been looking in to the biodiesel craze and it seems pretty tantalizing though I've heard that power is missing and finding fuel can be problematic.

any one have different thoughts?

Check out the 4WD&SU blog post about biodiesel conversions and feel free to chime in.

I know the OEs will only sanction and warranty biodiesel use up to B20, and only ASTM-spec biodiesel. If it's just a weekend project and out-of-warranty, what the heck. Go B100! I do know a sudden transition from petro-diesel to biodiesel can cause clogged fuel filters, and some oil dilution, which theoretically could cause premature bearing and turbo wear, but if you're conscientious about changing your oil and keeping an eye on your fuel filters, you should be fine.

Probably would not recommend running SVO, based on the high glycerin content of straight veggie oil, and some of the detrimental long-term effects it has on engines.  But I've heard of people running the Greasecar conversion for quite a while without ill effects.
