Phil I see Geo caching as becoming a fun and exciting part of the 4 wheel and offroad sports.The skills needed to Geo cache are similar to those needed in search and recovery. Also off road clubs could integrate finding Geocaches along there route as a skill event. It would be sort of a poker run adapted to off road events. I believe that to become efficient to the use of there gps units a operator will use every chance they can get to sharpen there skills. Another use of the Gps would to be marking tracks on new routes and adding these to a off-road database. There is another website

Then you can track your trip upload to your website and save your trip complete with photos. Then you can chose to view the track on Google earth either in arial photo or topo mode:

I've been a cacher since August of 2001, cutting my teeth  on my first find in Arizona.  1453 later, I'm still active, and have some great caches hidden in areas both hike-only and 4WD only locations.

Probably my most difficult hike is to Lime Creek Cache not far from Horseshoe Lake north of Phoenix, but I also have some great hides that are still looking for finds, along Devils Canyon in the Bighorn Mountains of Wyoming.

I don't recall the everytrail link, so I'm going ot check that one out.  Thanks!  BTW 1958, are you a collector of Geocoins by chance?  

that is a cool site. i found that there were quite a few caches less than a mile from my house. might have to start carrying my GPS on bike rides.
