88 4.0l Jeep Comanche, w/ 314k miles.

Jeep will start but sometimes starts at a very high rev and it will not 'clear' itself and drop back to the proper idle. This high rev condition continues @ speed as it will 'idle' along almost like a cruise control. It also will not idle properly and will stall if I don't 'two foot' the gas and the brake to keep it from stalling and sometimes that will not work and stall.

Any thoughts??
