getting a tire that will dominate every other tire in every aspect simply does not exist. but from what i have experinced and have heard this is what i have found out...
BFG A/T's: great in snow and the best your gonna get on ice. great on hardpacked dirt and on rock. but they suck in mud but it helps to run them on low pressure.
Pro Comp Xterrain's: Great in softer dirt and lose rock. not sure about the snow but i would asume they would provide less traction on snow and ice due to the larger tread pattern. i would also assume that mud traction in mud wouldn't be bad.
BFG M/T's: they slide on ice due to the fact that they have large tread with no slits in the knobs like the A/T's do. Great in mud but very loud on the road.
so just like anything else you need to pick you tire for your application.. just ask yourself where yo uare going to be wheel'n.

BFG ko-a/t's in the snow? lol, only with tire chains wrapped around them. (no offense intended, thats my experience with them where I live and play, I have a set of 31x10.5-15 a/t's that have 55,000 miles on them) the km-m/t's are awesome in the snow and ice especially when there sipped, most tire stores like Les Schwab, have the equiptment for sipping.
the best all purpose I've purchased so far is the trXus m/t's, despite the aggressive look, they make very little noise and can be balanced easily. the mud traction is only surpassed by a real swamper, these things adhere to the ice and rock, fling chunks of mud, plow through snow and water like its not there.
I run 34x12.5-16's 10ply, super thick 2 ply sidewalls (indestructable 3ply available in sizes 37" and over. on the trail I run around 10-15psi, 8psi in the sand, 25 on the hwy they have 12,000 miles on them so far, I'm not considered a conservative driver.
the pics are from thanksgiving 07. check out the link, I'm not the only one that loves them.

Belief it or not… after the truck it self, the off road tires along with the appropriate wheels are the most important ingredient to a good usable 4x4! You probably often hear people arguing about the "correct" off road tires for use. What size you should use, manufacturer, alloy or iron.I would also like to recommend Viagra Online The first question you must ask yourself is which type of tire you want to use. There are both radial and diagonal. Always choose radial tires if they are available! Radial tires have better road traction, provide a softer ride and usually last a lot longer. Larger than 38 inch tires are usually only available as diagonal. Off Road Tire Tread Patterns The second question is which tire tread to use. Ignoring all "religious" issues is hard, but I will try to explain. There are basically four types of tire tread to use for trucks and SUVs. Street These are intended mostly for highway use, so I will not describe them any further here! All terrain Provide a good balance between drivability on the highway and traction off roads. They are good to use in dry, powdery snow, also reasonably good on ice and in mud, but perform rather bad in wet snow. All terrain Provide a good balance between drivability on the highway and traction off roads. They are good to use in dry, powdery snow, also reasonably good on ice and in mud, but perform rather bad in wet snow. Mud terrain Give the best overall grip in sand, dirt, rocks and snow and reasonable grip in most other situations. They are especially good in wet snow and mud. They are however considered noisier than the finer treaded tires. Special There are various special tire treads like this Super Swamper Bogger. The Bogger is designed for heavy mud, but could prove usable in other situations.

I agree with the guy that said none of them do everything well. I have had Yokos, BFs, Goodyears, Nokian, Michelins, Nittos, Bridges, Pros, Maxxis and Toyos in various AT and MT forms. I can tell you that after getting the Toyos MT's that I would never go back to anything else until I hear of something better. They are 10 ply, the lugs run nearly four inches down the sidewall to protect from rocks, they get a 9 in rocks, a 8 in mud, a 10 for being super quiet and a 4/5 in snow. I had the middle of mine siped by a tire shop and they now probably get a 7/8 in snow. Every time I get out of my car I look at the lugs and can't believe how quiet they are. Those tires do nearly everything perfectly. The downside, price, in my 18" they run about $450 a tire.
