Stick or Automatic: What's better off-road?

Do you guys think a stick-shift or automatic is better for off-roading? Benefits? Drawbacks?

In all honesty I would have to say automatic because there is no clutch and you don't have to deal with stalling while climbing rocks or in the mud. I think manual is better for the street where auto is better for riding trails.

As much as I like manuals for street driving, I think the extra hand and foot afforded by an automatic ultimately gives you more control over negotiating a trail. I think I'd have to agree with Dino 123.
