my wife and i went hiking this last week. we needed to get up a 3.5 mile 4wd road to get to the trail head. we were in a subaru legacy awd wagon, which didn't come close to making it up the road.
my question is whether i could have made it up in our mb ml320. it has more torque and lower gearing, but how could i tell?

should have made it up in the sube unless there is like mad rocks or where clearnance from the ground would need to be higher. Otherwise having not seen the road, I would say that the benz suv would have done fine, just low gear, and creep along the edge of the road
