Front Spool Traction Aide

I got a 86 cj7 with manual locking hubs, and was wondering if installing a spool would be a bad thing to do. I dont know a whole lot about spool, just that it permanately locked. Just wondering if this would would make for awkward turning onroad or if there are other problems using a spool. Any help will be appreciated.

if you are going to be driving on the street i'd keep the hubs.
